Pylobactell is an all-in-one kit, with laboratory analysis included in the NHS price, for the reliable and quick in vivo diagnosis for the gastro-duodenal presence of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori).

When to use Pylobactell 13C-Urea Breath Test (UBT):
Uninvestigated Dyspepsia
Offer H. pylori ‘test and treat’ to patients with dyspepsia1

Peptic Ulcer Disease
Test to confirm before treating and to confirm eradication 6-8 weeks after commencement of treatment1

The UBT using essentially 13C-urea remains the best test to diagnose H. pylori infection, has a high accuracy and is easy to perform2

Simple and effective methodology:
As a defence against local acidic conditions, H. pylori bacteria excrete urease which converts urea into carbon dioxide and ammonia. If a H. pylori infected individual is given 13C-labelled urea, the 13C is detected in the breath CO2 30 minutes after ingestion.
